About Sarah Piano Teacher

Sarah Piano Teacher is all about bringing the joy of music to life for children. With over 20 years of experience teaching young learners as early as age three to adults in their 80s. I am passionate about guiding children through a musical journey that is creative, playful and deeply rewarding. I began my own piano studies at the age of six, and I know first-hand how magical those early musical experiences can be.

I am DBS checked and hold a Diploma with the Victoria College of Music with honours, as well as Grade 8 in both practical and theory with ABRSM. I have also completed the Cert PTC (The Piano Teachers’ Course UK) and continue to receive specialist training in group piano teaching with Keynotes Music, ensuring my teaching is grounded in the latest research on how children learn best.

I teach from my home in Acton village, Sudbury, Suffolk and specialise in group piano lessons for children aged 4 and above. Group lessons provide the perfect introduction to learning the piano, offering a social, creative and relaxed setting where children feel safe to explore, experiment and grow. My approach focuses on developing the whole musician through rhythm games, aural activities, composing, improvising, ensemble work and the use of percussion instruments.

I strongly believe that children thrive when learning together. In a group setting, they develop musical skills more naturally, gain confidence through shared experiences, build friendships, and enjoy the motivation that comes from playing alongside others. Group learning encourages creativity, improves listening and coordination, and nurtures a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward music from the very beginning.

Above all, my goal is to inspire every child to love music. I care deeply about each student’s musical journey and aim to create lessons that are joyful, imaginative and filled with opportunities for success.
